The compute side of my homelab: deciding which host runs what, moving workloads without losing the way back, and learning the details that make virtualisation useful beyond the first installation.
Why it exists
Virtual machines and containers let me try things without dedicating a physical machine to every experiment. The interesting part is keeping the arrangement understandable as the lab grows.
A migration with a way back
The Ubuntu application VM was restored onto the NZXT Proxmox host and verified running. The original UGREEN copy remains stopped as a fallback while application and storage-mount checks catch up.
Next on the bench
Backup coverage, restore checks, and preparation for the remaining Proxmox VE 8-to-9 upgrade. A completed backup task is useful evidence, but it does not replace testing a recovery.
