One of the quietest parts of the lab, and one of the most useful. Pi-hole combines DNS filtering with local service names, so reaching something at home does not start with remembering an IP address.
Why it exists
A home network is easier to live with when services have understandable names. Pi-hole is the small piece connecting those names to the machines behind them.
One piece of the route
DNS resolves the name; the reverse proxy routes the web request; Tailscale provides private remote reachability. Keeping those responsibilities separate makes a broken connection easier to diagnose.
